ABOUT OUR COMMUNITIES

Sundance town below Sundance Mountain

Scenes of awesome natural beauty abound in northeast Wyoming. The Big Horn Mountains, Black Hills, four National Forests, Thunder Basin National Grassland, Devils Tower National Monument, and millions of acres of other state and national public lands, provide unparalleled opportunity for outdoor recreation.

Hiking, camping, golf, fishing, major rodeos, skiing of all types, snowmobiling, Native American cultural events, watching wildlife, photography, rock climbing, hunting, river rafting, horseback riding, mineral hunting, gold prospecting, relic and fossil hunting, frontier forts and battle grounds give residents year-round enrichment.

Our community populations range from less than 1,000 residents to more than 35,000 in Gillette. There are fourteen different school districts in our service territory. Housing in northeastern Wyoming, both purchases and rentals, is tight and you should set aside ample time for house-hunting. Median home values range from $310,000 to $370,000 in urban, suburban, and rural settings.
