Energy Share of Wyoming is a nonprofit, statewide program that assists those who do not qualify for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) and are experiencing a situation such as a medical or family crisis, which makes it difficult to pay their energy bills. Energy Share of Wyoming is a partnership with individuals and organizations that represent senior citizens, Wyoming utilities and cooperatives, churches and groups who serve the disabled. First priority goes to Wyoming residents who are at or above the 185 percent of the federal poverty level. Funding decisions are made by the Salvation Army, which reviews applicants’ eligibility. The program begins on December 1, and applications are received until the end of May or until funds are exhausted.
The Salvation Army is the local representative for Energy Share and is responsible for assessing need and determining eligibility for Energy Share assistance. To apply or to locate your local Salvation Army field representative, please call toll-free 1-877-461-5719.
