Senior Vice President of Engineering and Technical Services
Matt was born and raised in Nevada and is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno. He received his BS degree in Electrical Engineering in 1978 and began his career as a junior engineer with Nevada Power Company in Las Vegas. He was with Nevada Power Company for over 27 years holding various positions in engineering, contract management, land services, system and resource planning and management. In 2004 he left Nevada Power Company and worked for a land development company managing the development of a 5,000-acre master-planned community in Nevada until the end of 2008. In 2010 he came to work for Powder River Energy to get back into the electric utility industry and take advantage of an opportunity to live in Wyoming.
Matt is responsible for managing the planning, design, environmental, permitting and, in conjunction with Operations, the construction of the Powder River Energy system. Engineering is responsible for responding to members’ requests service changes or power quality problems and works with Operations to analyze system problems.
